[[Otyugh's Cry]] is actually pretty helpful for when you start training a low level pet to be dire. What most people miss about this skill is that it is an AoE pet AL buff. The fact that it causes other nearby animals to your target is really there for amusment imo.

Just because a skill is not widely used doesn't mean that it's useless. Many skills really only have niche uses, but they do come in handy. I won't say that there are skills that are completely useless, but I think that there are less than what most people state.
Also, as a side note, I would say that there are probably more useless elites than regular skills by virtue of their nature. I hate to say it, but I think mesmers see the most of this with their selection in Elites.
